Blast Motion, Inc. Signs Softball Standouts Amanda Lorenz, Aliyah Andrews, and Sis Bates to Inspired Roster of Ambassadors

Now celebrated pro softball players, the former NCAA stars bring a variety of hitting styles and magnetic personalities to Team Blast; join movement to empower female athletes by making swing metrics and insights more accessible

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (August 9, 2022) – Blast Motion, a leader in swing analysis, performance insights, and player development, today announced the addition of pro softball players Amanda Lorenz, Aliyah Andrews, and Nicole “Sis” Bates to an elite Team Blast ambassador team. The team already features recent signees Haley Cruse and Paige Halstead, two of the world’s top softball influencers on social media, as well as University of Oklahoma and two-time NCAA National Champions Jocelyn Alo, Jayda Coleman, and Kinzie Hansen.

With each having distinct hitting styles and all possessing game-changing skills, Lorenz, Andrews, and Bates further complement a Team Blast roster that has attracted the game’s top pro and college softball players, coaches, and social media creators. In addition to working with Blast’s engineering team to provide input into future Blast products and services, the trio are looking forward to creating a variety of sharable content to make player development and swing improvement more accessible to the softball community utilizing the Blast Softball swing analyzer (sensor), mobile app, and cloud-based premium services.

Lorenz is just a few years removed from her NCAA career at University of Florida where she garnered many awards for her performance as a Gator: NFCA National Freshman of the Year (2016), SEC Freshman of the Year (2016), SEC Player of the Year (2018), three-time First Team All-American (2017–2019), and First Team All-SEC (2016–2019). She now splits her playing time as a leader for Athletes Unlimited and Team USA; earlier this month, Lorenz helped USA Softball take down Japan to win the gold medal at The World Games 2022 at the Hoover Met.

“I am so excited to join Team Blast to benefit my own training as well as to educate other softball athletes on how they can use Blast to help them get to the next level,” said former University of Florida Softball and current pro player Amanda Lorenz. “Blast was such an important tool for me as a student-athlete at Florida, and I’m excited to continue leveraging their solution to excel at the professional level.”

Formerly an All-American and All SEC outfielder for LSU, where she ranks in the top five for career hits, runs, stolen bases and games played for the Tigers, Andrews also earned the nickname “Air Aliyah” for her spectacular diving catches featured on ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10. She made her pro debut in 2021, leveraging her slap hitting style to finish 8th overall for Athletes Unlimited.

“Partnering with Blast and its incredible team is extremely exciting,” said former LSU Softball and current pro player Aliyah Andrews. “Using their technology in college helped me improve many aspects of my swing, and I’m eager to continue to use it throughout my professional career as well as to work with Blast to continue growing the game of softball.”

As one of the most decorated players in the history of University of Washington Softball, Bates became the Huskies’ all-time hits leader and was a three-time All-American as well as Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. Closing out her collegiate career in 2021, she now serves as an Assistant Coach with UW as well as recently began her pro career with Athletes Unlimited as a favorite with both teammates and fans.

“Using Blast’s solution at an even higher level to supplement my training is going to give me greater awareness of my swing,” said former University of Washington Softball and current pro player Sis Bates. “I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to work closely with Blast, to further advance my game as well as to share my journey and show other players how easy and powerful it can be to unlock their performance with Blast as well.”

Using their talents and reach across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, the ambassadors will collaborate with Blast to create training videos featuring swing tips and tricks to help players improve as well as generate content that showcase their personal goals, results, perspectives, personalities, and behind-the-scenes journeys.

“Collaborating with Amanda, Aliyah, and Sis adds even more dimension to what we’ve envisioned for Team Blast,” said Blast Motion Director of Digital Marketing Austin Hurwitz. “Each of their swings and approaches at the plate are so different, but the common thread is that they work tirelessly to embrace and maximize their unique strengths. Beyond that, frankly, the joy that they bring to their training and their passion for the game as well as helping other players improve (and have fun!) make them ideal ambassadors.”
