No Metrics? Blast Golf Troubleshooting Guide

Share:

If Blast Golf isn’t registering your swings, it’s almost always one of a few common causes: no ball contact, misalignment, the wrong mode selected, or a swing that falls outside the sensor’s valid range. Work through the checklist below, then reset the sensor if the issue continues.

Common Reasons a Swing Won’t Register

  • No contact was made. You must make contact with the ball — air swings are not supported in standard mode.
  • The sensor’s Blastman logo isn’t aligned with the top of the club (up to 5% variance left/right is allowed).
  • For putting: Lie Change is outside ±10 degrees, or Loft Change is outside ±15 degrees.
  • The stroke lasted longer than 2 seconds, or you didn’t pause 2-3 seconds between swings.
  • When putting, the ball didn’t travel at least a foot, or Swing Speed exceeded 14 mph.
  • For Full Swing/Short Game/Bunker, the swing didn’t reach roughly 30 mph or higher.
  • The sensor’s battery is below 20%, or the wrong club type/handedness is selected.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm the sensor is charged (battery above 20%) and connected to the app.
  2. Confirm the correct club and handedness are selected, and the sensor is aligned in the attachment.
  3. Confirm the correct swing mode is selected: Putting, Short Game, Bunker, or Full Swing.
  4. Repeat the swing, making sure to contact a golf ball and pause 2-3 seconds between attempts.
  5. If it’s still not registering, reset the sensor and try again.

How to Switch Golf Modes

On the Home screen, tap the Golf Modes selector, then choose Putting, Full Swing, Short Game, or Bunker. Note: Short Game and Bunker modes require a Blast Connect subscription and a Blast Golf Gen 3 sensor.

How to Reset Your Sensor

iOS:
1. Tap the hamburger icon on the Home screen to open the Main Menu.
2. Tap My Sensors.
3. Move the sensor to wake it and connect to the app.
4. Tap the arrow next to your sensor to open Sensor Details.
5. Scroll down and select Reset your sensor.
6. The sensor disconnects, flashes red, and reconnects — this takes about 45 seconds.

Android:
1. Tap the Menu icon.
2. Tap My Sensor.
3. Select the sensor.
4. Tap Reset Sensor or Clear Sensor (the sensor must be connected to reset).

How to Connect and Charge the Sensor

To connect: from the Analyze/My Sensors screen, shake the sensor logo toward the ground for 2 seconds, then toward the sky for 2 seconds, repeating until the circle shows green with a battery level.

To charge: place the sensor centered on the wireless charger with the logo facing up, using the included USB cable. A full charge takes 45 minutes to an hour and provides about 7 days of standby or 6-8 hours of normal use.
