BLAST MOTION AND ZEPP LABS SETTLE PATENT LITIGATION

Blast Motion and Zepp Labs Settle Patent Litigation

SAN DIEGO, California – [1/5/2018] – Blast Motion, Inc. (“Blast Motion”) and Zepp Labs, Inc. (“Zepp Labs”) announced the entry of a stipulated judgment and settlement in their patent lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Pursuant to the stipulated judgment:

  • The District Court has entered a judgment of infringement against Zepp Labs baseball, softball, golf and tennis products with respect to certain claims of United States Patent Nos. 8,903,521, 8,905,855 and 9,039,527 (“Blast Motion Patents”).
  • The District Court has issued an injunction against Zepp Labs from selling or offering for sale the accused Zepp Labs baseball and softball sensor products in the United States. This injunction will go into effect in six months from the entry of the judgment.
  • The District Court has also entered a judgment of infringement against Blast Motion baseball, softball and golf products with respect to certain claims of United States Patent No. 8,989,441 (“Zepp Labs Patent”).

The parties also entered into a Settlement and License Agreement that will permit the parties to continue to distribute their respective products in the United States, with the exception of the accused Zepp Labs baseball and softball sensor products.

The remaining terms of the Settlement and License Agreement between Blast Motion and Zepp Labs are confidential.
