Easton and Blast Motion Launch Android Support for Baseball / Softball Precision Swing Motion Sensor

Easton Power Sensor Allows Android Users to Capture, Analyze and Improve Swing Biomechanics

(Carlsbad, Calif., – September 24, 2015) – In an expansion to the Easton Power Sensor iOS launch in August, Easton Baseball / Softball, a leading manufacturer of baseball and softball equipment, in partnership with Blast Motion, today announced Easton Power Sensor support for Google’s Android OS. The Easton Power Sensor is a precision swing motion sensor designed to help players of all abilities hit with more power and efficiency.
The Easton Power Sensor slips over the knob of any baseball or softball bat and has been designed to capture highly accurate swing metrics and deliver advanced performance analysis. Weighing in at just 7.7 grams, the Easton Power Sensor utilizes Bluetooth wireless technology to capture and store a wide-range of 3D data, including time to contact, swing speed, energy transfer, bat path, power, overall efficiency and much more. All of these factors combine to provide a player with their Blast Factor, a 1-100 score that shows a player’s overall swing performance and is a simple way to compare and coach proper mechanics.

“Whether it’s kids, parents or coaches, today’s consumers want instantaneous information to elevate their game no matter which mobile operating platform they use,” said Donovan Prostrollo, senior director, marketing, Blast Motion. “By working in collaboration with Easton, we’re thrilled to be launching the Easton Power Sensor app into the Android marketplace. This allows a huge group of users to gain actionable insights from real-time swing analysis to help them improve their game.”
By leveraging Blast Motion’s patented Smart Video Capture™ the Easton Power Sensor intelligently combines video and swing metrics to create a powerful new swing analysis tool that automatically detects a player’s swing and clips the video to create a series of video highlights. No user editing or playback intervention is required to experience this groundbreaking functionality.

Pricing and Availability
The Easton Power Sensor is now available for $149.95 and ships with precision swing motion sensor, the bat attachment, wireless charger, and charging cable. The Easton Power Sensor can be purchased online at www.easton.com/power-sensor or blastmotion.com/products/baseball/ as well as authorized sporting goods and consumer electronic locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The app can be downloaded from the Google Play store.
