Throughout March, the Blast team traveled to Arizona and Florida for Spring Training, onboarding MLB teams across the Cactus and Grapefruit leagues. While some of these teams were returning clients, others joined the Blast family after seeing recent successes from teams like the Houston Astros. In both cases, it was nice to spend time with MLB teams and players, getting them familiar with the new updates to our Pro Team solution and ensuring they use Blast to its fullest potential.
During this time, we walked teams through the full Blast solution and how it fits into their active Spring Training schedule. Some of the new specific features include: advanced metrics around plane, connection, and rotation, and access to additional data streams.
It was also fun to see how MLB teams and players respond to some of our new features that they may have not seen yet such as the 3D Swing Tracer and Blast Vision.
Being able to spend this time with the teams also allows us to gather important feedback on how they utilize Blast during the course of the season, so we can support each team’s specific work flow.
Since onboarding them in mid-March, the teams have taken hundreds of thousands of swings with our Blast sensors, and many will continue to use them throughout their day-to-day training once the season starts.
We are excited for the ’18 MLB season and are honored to support such a wide selection of Major League Baseball.
