The New and Improved Blast Is Here

Years of work with hitting experts, thousands of hours of user feedback, and millions of swings analyzed, all in your pocket. The new Blast Motion app is live, and it’s the biggest change to the product since launch.

Here’s everything that’s new, and why it matters for your swing.

Your Swing Health, right there

Swing Health is a single score built from a rolling read of your last 200 swings, not a per-swing grade. One bad rip in a bucket of good ones shouldn’t tank your number, and one lucky swing shouldn’t inflate it. Swing Health reflects where you are, measured against players at your age level, so the number means something right now.

The old app made you dig for the number that actually matters. The new one leads with it.

Open the app and it’s right there. No more digging through screens to figure out if today’s work moved the needle.

Readiness: are you Ready to Rake?

Readiness tells you whether you’re prepared to perform today. It’s a daily gauge built on three rings (Volume, Effort, and Quality) that reset every calendar day. Hit your targets on all three and you close your rings for the day. Close them on 3 of the last 7 days and you build a streak.

This is the part that turns “training” into a habit. A single great session was never really the goal. Showing up consistently is.

Readiness makes that consistency visible, day by day, so you can see a slump coming before it shows up on the field, and see a hot streak building before you’re even aware of it.

Streaks unlock real progress

Closing your rings isn’t just a badge. Building a streak (3 closed days in any 7-day window) unlocks new in-app levels and keeps your Readiness climbing. The app is built to reward the boring, repeatable stuff: getting your reps in, putting in real effort, and doing it again tomorrow. That’s how swings actually improve, and now the app tracks it the way a good coach would.

New metrics, easier to read

We didn’t just make the app prettier. We also made the data more useful, at every depth level.

New metrics joining the lineup:

      • Commit Time: how long it takes you to commit to a swing decision

      • Hinge Angle at Impact: your hip/torso hinge at the moment of contact

      • Body Tilt Angle: how your body angle shifts through the swing

Whether you want a fast glance at your Swing Health score or want to go metric-by-metric on a single swing, the new layout gets you there in fewer taps than before.

Benchmarks built from millions of real swings

A number is only useful if you know what it means. We analyzed millions of swings, from little league fields to professional stadiums, to build proprietary benchmarks for every metric in the app. Instead of guessing whether your attack angle is “good,” you’ll know exactly where it sits relative to players at your level, and exactly what to work on next.

Autosync: your data is always there

No more opening the app and waiting for swings to load, or worrying whether last night’s session made it into the cloud. Autosync means your swings sync automatically in the background. Put in the work wherever, whenever, and it’s waiting for you the next time you open Blast.

Built for coaches and teams, too

Coaches told us the old player/sensor/bat switching flow slowed them down mid-practice. We rebuilt it from the ground up based on hours of coach interviews and hands-on testing. The new flow makes it faster to jump between players and confirm the right sensor and bat are selected so you spend less time less second-guessing the setup, and more time actually coaching.

    What this means for you

None of this is cosmetic. The new Blast app is built around one idea: make the connection between “I put in the work” and “I got better” as clear and immediate as possible. Swing Health tells you where you stand. Readiness tells you if today’s work counts. Streaks make consistency visible. Better metrics and real benchmarks tell you exactly what to fix. And Autosync and the new coach flow get the friction out of the way so you can spend your time swinging, not managing the app.

Update to the latest version and open the app to see it for yourself.
