Blast Softball registers your first metric as soon as you make contact with the ball while your sensor is connected and attached to your bat. There are three ways to capture that first swing: Online, Offline, and Video mode.
Contact with the softball must be made to get metrics in each of these modes.
Online Mode (iOS & Android)
- Make sure the sensor is connected to Blast Softball (Menu > Sensor > tap Sensor if not) and attached to your bat.
- Go to the Live screen (iOS) or Dashboard (Android) to capture live metrics.
- On iOS, set your Environment and Layout options, then tap Start Practice.
- Take your first swing, making contact with the ball.
- View your metrics once contact is made.
Offline Mode (iOS & Android)
- Connect to Blast Softball to check battery level (Menu > My Sensor); charge if below 20%.
- Confirm the sensor is connected to the bat you’ll use (Menu > My Bats > tap Bat).
- Close the app once verified, then take your first swing, making contact with the ball.
- Reconnect the sensor to the app afterward.
- Tap the menu/inbox notification, then tap UPLOAD to download your swings.
- View your metrics in the Swings section.
Video Mode (iOS & Android)
- Make sure the sensor is connected and attached to your bat.
- Go to the Camera screen and tap the circle record button.
- Take your first swing, making contact with the ball.
- Tap the red record button to finish. Multiple swings can be recorded in one video without stopping between them.
- View your videos and metrics in the Video Library.
FAQ
Why am I not seeing any metrics after my swing?
You need to make contact with the softball — swings without ball contact won’t register a metric.
What’s the difference between Online and Offline mode?
Online mode shows metrics live during your session; Offline mode stores swings on the sensor for upload once you reconnect to the app.
Can I capture video and metrics together?
Yes, Video mode records a synced video clip alongside each swing’s metrics.
