How to Set Up Blast Vision for Ball Flight Tracking

Share:

Blast Vision uses your device’s camera to visualize post-impact ball flight, so getting the camera set up correctly is the key first step. Position the camera so the ball is hit from the bottom-right or bottom-left corner of the frame and flies out the opposite side.

Camera Setup for Vision

  • Place the camera several feet in front of the impact location and 6–12 feet away from the ball flight line, parallel to that line.
  • Vision needs to know the distance between the camera and the ball flight line. Measure this as accurately as possible using a tape measure (or a bat of known length) and enter it on the “Camera Distance” setup screen. Measure straight ahead along the ground from directly under the camera to the flight line — not the slant distance from camera height, and not the distance to the ball itself.

Getting Started

  1. From the My Feed screen, tap the camera button at the bottom.
  2. Set the camera distance by scrolling the circle to the correct distance. 10+ feet is recommended for best results.
  3. Tap Set Distance.
  4. Align the camera view near either the right-handed or left-handed circle.
  5. Tap the record button to start.
  6. Take a swing to capture your shot.

FAQ

What’s the recommended camera distance for Blast Vision?
10 feet or more from the ball flight line is recommended for the best ball flight tracking results.

Why does camera distance matter so much?
Vision uses the distance you enter to calculate accurate post-impact ball flight, so an imprecise measurement (measured on the ground, straight ahead — not the slant distance) will throw off your results.
