Baseball tech took off fast. Arguably the quickest of any sport in the world, says Kyle Attl, Blast Motion director of professional baseball sales and service. With a sudden onslaught of options, consumers didn’t know where to turn. That’s all changed as the sport’s leaders have focused on the most meaningful elements of technology, giving athletes a more mainstream way to discern what works in the cage, on the field, in the gym, and at the dining table.
“Guys are using technology before they get to us,” says Tyler Rost, Duke University’s baseball director of player development, “They are used to it. I think they are pretty excited about it and understand the importance of it. We make it a priority to train them on how to use the data. It is important to learn and for our guys to understand the data.”
