Android Connection Issues: How to Fix Blast Sensor Connectivity

Share:

If your Blast sensor won’t connect on Android, the most common causes are Bluetooth, location services, or an app/sensor state that needs a reset. Work through the checks below in order before contacting support.

1. Check Bluetooth

Bluetooth is the main communication link between your sensor and the app. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on. If the sensor isn’t connecting automatically or manually, try toggling Bluetooth off and back on. As a deeper step, turn off Bluetooth, delete the app (back it up first), reinstall it, and turn Bluetooth back on.

2. Check Location Services

Android requires location services to be turned on for the app to detect your sensor, in addition to the app’s own Location permission.

To turn on Location via device settings:
1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap Apps (or tap Blast App, then Permissions on some devices).
3. Tap Permissions.
4. Swipe the toggle on.

Or use the shortcut: swipe down from the top of the screen to open the quick-settings panel, then tap the Location icon to turn it on.

On Samsung devices: Settings > Connections > Location > swipe the toggle on.

3. Check the Sensor’s Charge

Place the sensor on the charger. Shake it to check for a charge, and look for a green flashing indicator light under the Blast Man logo (flashing every 5–10 seconds means it’s actively broadcasting). No light means the sensor needs to charge, is dead, or has an incomplete activation — charge it for 45–60 minutes.

The charger LED itself tells you status: Red = not active (not on charger or already fully charged), Blue = charging, Green = fully charged. Once fully charged, the sensor enters standby and won’t resume charging until its battery drops below 93%, so remove and reseat it on the charger if needed.

4. Reset the Sensor

If Bluetooth, location, and charging all check out, reset the sensor as a last step. This requires uninstalling and reinstalling the app — back up any videos and confirm your Blast Connect subscription first. After reinstalling, log in and try connecting again.

Still Not Connecting?

Contact Blast Motion customer support with your username (email) and the sensor’s serial number (both top and bottom) ready.

FAQ

What Android permission most often blocks sensor connection?
Location Services — both the app’s own Location feature and the Android device’s system-level location setting need to be turned on.

Do I need to reinstall the app to reset the sensor?
Yes — resetting the sensor requires uninstalling and reinstalling the app, so back up your videos first.
