Why Is My Blast Sensor Not Flashing, and What Do the LED Colors Mean?

Share:

If your Blast sensor’s LED isn’t flashing, it’s usually because the sensor needs to be activated or charged. Once activated, the sensor uses different LED colors to show its status.

What the LED Colors Mean

  • Green LED – Awake, charged, and ready to capture a metric.
  • Red LED – Battery is low and should be charged.
  • No LED – The sensor has stopped blinking and is in standby/sleep mode.
  • Amber LED – Awake, charged, and ready to capture a metric.

Troubleshooting a Sensor That Isn’t Flashing

Work through these checks in order:

  1. Has the sensor been activated? The LED won’t flash until activation is complete.
  2. Has the sensor been charged? Plug the charger cable into the wireless charger’s micro USB port, then plug the other end into any USB port. Place the sensor centered on the charger with the logo facing up. A full charge takes 45 minutes to an hour; battery life is about 7 days on standby or 6-8 hours of normal use.
  3. Was it charged with the logo facing up? Make sure the sensor was placed logo-up on the wireless charger — this is required for it to charge properly.
  4. Try a different USB port. Plug the wireless charger into a different USB port outlet to rule out a power issue.

If Activation Is the Problem

If your sensor fails to connect during activation, try activating it again first. If it continues to fail:

  1. Uninstall the app.
  2. Reinstall the app from the App Store.
  3. Open the app and log in.
  4. Tap the menu, then go to My Sensor.
  5. Tap Add a Sensor.
  6. Scan or type in the serial number (tap “Having Trouble?” if needed).
  7. Shake the sensor until it connects (should take about 5-10 seconds).

If the sensor still isn’t flashing after checking activation, charging, charger orientation, and USB port, contact Blast Motion customer support with your account email and your sensor’s serial number (top and bottom) ready.
