How Does the Blast Motion Training Methodology Work?

Share:

Training with Blast Motion follows a repeatable 4-phase cycle — Assessment, Analyze, Training, and Reassess — designed to help baseball and softball players continuously improve their swing.

The 4 Phases of Training With Blast

1. Assessment Phase
The first phase establishes your baseline swings for the training cycle. High-intent, offline swings during this phase set you up for success in the Analyze Phase.

2. Analyze Phase
In this phase, you break down your swing using the PCR Scores (Plane, Connection, Rotation) found in the Blast Motion app. These scores set up the focus areas for the Training Phase.

3. Training Phase
Here you select the PCR score you’re trying to improve, then choose the drill or drills that will impact that specific part of your swing. This is where you focus on improving your metrics and building consistency.

4. Reassess Phase
The final phase compares your new swings against your original Assessment Phase swings to measure improvement and identify what to work on in the next training cycle. Training with Blast is designed as a continuous cycle, not a one-time process.

FAQ

What are the 4 phases of the Blast Motion training methodology?
Assessment, Analyze, Training, and Reassess — a continuous cycle for improving your swing.

What role do PCR scores play in training?
PCR scores (Plane, Connection, Rotation) are used in the Analyze Phase to identify which areas of your swing to focus on, which then guides drill selection in the Training Phase.

Is this training cycle a one-time process?
No — Blast Motion designed it as a continuous cycle. After the Reassess Phase, you begin a new Assessment Phase to keep improving.
